Hyperpop is a sound and an attitude

Hyperpop exaggerates pop until it becomes synthetic, chaotic and emotionally direct. It borrows from EDM, trap, pop punk, nightcore, digicore and experimental club music, then pushes pitch, brightness and compression harder than normal pop. The point is not random loudness; it is emotional clarity through extreme digital choices.

Vocals are usually the center

Pitch correction, formant shifts, stacked doubles, distortion and sharp edits create the recognizable hyperpop vocal tone. The performance still needs a strong hook; the processing makes it feel larger than life. Keep a clean comp before destroying the vocal so you can rebuild intelligibility if the words disappear.

Drums can be tiny, huge or broken

Many tracks combine trap hats, distorted kicks, pop-punk energy, glitch fills and sudden silence. Contrast is part of the style, so a section can jump from fragile to overloaded in one bar.

The palette is bright and digital

Use supersaws, FM bells, chip-like leads, synthetic guitars, clipped 808s and loud transitions. The mix can be aggressive, but the best tracks still keep the hook readable. Pick one or two elements to be painfully bright, then let the rest support the contrast.
