Purrigee: Free Ambient Drone Reverb Plugin by Cat Psychedelia
Independent Japanese developer Cat Psychedelia has released Purrigee, a free drone reverb plugin designed to transform simple chords into sustained ambient soundscapes. The plugin runs on Windows and macOS in VST3 and AU formats, and users can grab it as a pay-what-you-want download on Gumroad. It eliminates the rapid decay of conventional reverbs, letting incoming audio float indefinitely in the air.
Creating Endless Pads and Textures
At the heart of Purrigee is a minimalist interface dominated by a single primary control labeled TIDE. Rather than providing typical room simulation or brief decay tails, the processor continuously stretches incoming audio into an evolving sonic wash. Producers working in ambient, lo-fi, or cinematic composition can strike a chord once, release the keys, and let the sustained resonance hold the harmonic space without cluttering the mix.
